Angelina Jolie voted top lesbian in film

It is not uncommon for actress Angelina Jolie to appear at the top of publicly voted lists and this one has proven to be no exception. Jolie’s role of Gia Carangi has been selected as the most favoured lesbian character in film.

The poll, run by LesbiNation, asked for readers to suggest their favourite lesbian characters that have appeared in films.

Jolie topped the list for her role as Gia Carangi in Gia, a film directed by Michael Cristofer that was released in early 1998. The film depicted the life of the title character and her rise to fame as a supermodel, while having a passionate affair with a female make-up artist. The role won Jolie a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Jolie was followed by Ally Sheedy for her role in High Art, and Chea DuVall in But I’m A Cheerleader.

Recently produced and highly praised film Loving Annabelle also had a mention, with Erin Kelly being voted fourth on the list.

Other actresses that appeared in the top ten include Jennifer Tilly for her role in Bound, and Queen Latifah for her contribution to Set It Off.

Paris Hilton posed topless, in just a hat and a pair of Calvin Klein panties, for the February issue of the US magazine 944.

For the color coordinated photo shoot Paris used green eye makeup to go with the green digits of '944' and wore peacock feather earrings.

Despite the fact that it is Paris Hilton who is posing, the overall effect is eye catching and tasteful. There is no denying her excellent body tone and good figure.

The former inmate may not have lived up to her post jail promise of visiting Rwanda but we give her credit for working hard and making a living, albeit largely by shedding her clothes.

The last thing she would want to do after such raunchy photo shoots would be to end up back in jail.

Paris had hosted 944 Magazine pre-Super Bowl Party on Thursday night, January 31.

Lindsay Lohan's boobs will boost career

Gracing the cover of "New York Magazine" this month, a full-figured Lindsay Lohan emulated Marilyn Monroe by posing nude in the new spring fashion issue.

Bert Stern, who photographed Monroe in 1962 at the Hotel Bel-Air, recreated the famous photo shoot with 21-year-old Lohan at the same hotel on Feb. 5, capturing images of her wearing only a blond wig.

Stern told the Associated Press he thought the photo shoot would give the young actress a chance to be seen as a grown-up.

Lohan made a name for herself in Hollywood by the age of 12, starring in movies such as "The Parent Trap," "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls."

She quickly blossomed in the public eye along side Paris and Nicky Hilton and Britney Spears and became famous, or rather infamous, for having a party girl reputation.

Her short-lived singing career flopped and so have her recent monotonous movie roles. We all watched as her life slowly began to spiral downward.

For most of the media critics, posing nude could seem like a desperate attempt by Lohan to make a comeback.

After all, it's only been a year since she was arrested twice on drunk driving and drug charges, and only a few weeks since she checked out of rehab.

But this could prove to be her best role yet. Although Lohan is bearing it all for the cameras, it's not what I was immediately drawn to the first time I saw the spread.

Disguising her freckly face and red hair, Lohan mimics Monroe by donning dark brows, a platinum blond wig and a pale complexion, and she does it with grace and style.

The combination is pretty uncommon in Hollywood - especially in the nude.

It was refreshing, for once, to see an all-American, full-figured young actress on the cover of a high fashion magazine instead of the bronzed, anorexic models we're so used to seeing.

Lohan, who has been scrutinized in the past for being too thin, looks attractive, sexy and, most importantly, healthy.

Amy Winehouse to launch a clothing range

Amy Winehouse is rumoured to be in talks about bringing out her own clothing line.

Famed for her unique style, including her beehive hairdo and heavy eyeliner, Amy, 24, will help fans create a similar look for themselves.

'Amy's style has been copied by girls around the country and there's a lot of money to be made,' a source tells The Sun. 'It's a very distinctive look.

'Amy wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hairspray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner and perfume.'

Meanwhile, Amy was photographed in London's Soho last night with scratches on her left arm.

Katie Price to start sex business

GLAMOUR girl JORDAN is aiming to bring out her own range of condoms and sex toys.

The goods, including vibrators and massage devices, will have a logo featuring the busty model’s naked silhouette.

Jordan has applied to the UK Intellectual Property Office to have the symbol registered.

She is also launching more traditional toys and even fruit machines.

The 29-year-old star has already registered a logo in her real name, KATIE PRICE, for haircare appliances — with hearts above the “I’s”.

She wants to extend it to a range of other products, including jewellery, clothing and cosmetics — and even horse whips and saddlery.

Katie, a keen rider, will be given a decision on her new logo by the UK IPO in three months.

Marion Cotillard best actress, 'No Country' leads Oscars

France's Marion Cotillard was crowned best actress at the 80th Academy Awards here Sunday as violent thriller "No Country for Old Men" bagged two early Oscars.

Cotillard, 32, won for her astounding performance as tragic chanteuse Edith Piaf in "La Vie En Rose," becoming the first Frenchwoman to win the best actress Oscar since Simone Signoret in 1960.

It was the only second time in Oscars history that the best actress award had gone to a performance in a non-English speaking role. Italian legend Sophia Loren was the other woman to achieve the feat in 1962.

Cotillard, who received the award from 2007 best actor Forest Whitaker, paid tribute to her director before exclaiming: "Thank you life, thank you love. It is true that there are some angels in this city. Thank you so, so much."

In other early honors, pre-Oscars favorite "No Country for Old Men" took an early lead in the overall awards stakes by winning two statuettes in the best supporting actor and adapted screenplay categories.

Javier Bardem became the first performer from Spain ever to win an acting Oscar for his portrayal of a psychopathic hitman in the film.

"This is pretty amazing, it's a great honor for me to have this," Bardem told guests in his acceptance speech.

"Thank you to the Coens for being crazy enough to think that I could do that and put one of the most horrible haircuts in history on my head," he added, referring to the bizarre coiffure given to his character in the film.

The film's directors -- Joel and Ethan Coen -- later won the best adapted screenplay Oscar for "No Country for Old Men."

Britain's Tilda Swinton was crowned best supporting actress for her performance as a scheming corporate legal chief in the drama "Michael Clayton."

"Oh, no. Happy birthday, man," Swinton said, clutching her Oscar statuette. "I have an American agent who is the spitting image of this. Really truly the same shape head and, it has to be said, the buttocks."

In other early awards, Disney-Pixar's "Ratatouille", about a Parisian rat who attempts to become a master-chef, won the best animated feature Oscar.

Earlier, dark clouds and rain failed to put a dampener on the movie industry's biggest party of the year as stars lit up the red carpet.

Streets around the venue were cordoned off as authorities draped a security blanket over the neighborhood where guests arrived on a red carpet that has been shielded by a waterproof canopy.

The Oscars are expected to be carved up between several violent movies, with the eight-times nominated "No Country for Old Men" heading the field and its directors, the Coen brothers, eyeing a place in history.

Oscar host Jon Stewart quipped about the crop of "Oscar-nominated psychopathic killer movies" in his opening monologue.

"Does this town need a hug? What happened? 'No Country For Old Men?' 'Sweeney Todd?' 'There Will Be Blood?' All I can say is, thank God for teen pregnancy. I think the country agrees," Stewart said in a nod to best picture nominee "Juno."

The Coens could set a new record if they sweep all four categories they have been personally nominated in -- best picture as producers, director, adapted screenplay and editing.

It would be the first time ever that anyone has won four Academy Awards for the same film in one year, although Walt Disney scooped four Oscars for different projects in 1953.

On paper, "No Country for Old Men's" biggest rival is the eight-time nominated oil industry epic "There Will Be Blood," which is joined in the best picture category by legal thriller "Michael Clayton," historical drama "Atonement" and comedy "Juno."

Beyond the contests for best picture and best director clear front-runners have emerged in most of the acting categories.

Daniel Day-Lewis is regarded as a shoo-in to win the second best actor statuette of his career for playing an oil baron in "There Will Be Blood," ahead of George Clooney ("Michael Clayton") and Tommy Lee Jones for "In the Valley of Elah."

This year's Oscars are taking place after months of uncertainty following the Hollywood screenwriters strike that wreaked havoc with the entertainment industry's awards season.

The Golden Globes were canceled after stars vowed to boycott the event in support of striking writers and fears of a similar no-show had plagued the Oscars until the strike was called off earlier this month.

Angelina Jolie let her body do the talking when it came to telling the world she is pregnant for the second time when she showed off her baby bump at the 2008 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Feb 23.

The stunning actress fuelled speculation she is pregnant with her and partner Brad Pitt's baby last month, when she started wearing loose-fitting dresses at many of her recent public appearances and staying away from alcohol.

According to the Sun, the actress left no one in doubt that the stork will soon be visiting her and partner Pitt when she donned a tight black dress - clearly displaying her growing belly.

However, the 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' pair has yet to confirm rumours that they are expecting.

Pitt and Jolie already have 4 kids in their family, Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 1.

Their adoption of Pax was made official only last week.

Paris Hilton paid more than $1million to party

Socialite Paris Hilton is reportedly paid more than a MILLION dollars by a nightclub to party there throughout the year.

According to U.S. reports, Paris gets paid “upward of $1.2 million a year to host parties and show up” at Las Vegas club Pure.

Another top club, LAX, then reportedly pays her “a hefty six-figure sum every time she shows up” while she also gets big money for other public appearances.

One insider said: “It’s truly an amazing phenomenon. No-one really knows how Paris got so famous in the first place, but now she is so famous she makes millions just to turn up and party. It’s crazy.”

Both Pure and LAX deny paying Paris. But she has long been rumoured to make her real living from paid appearances, which is why her brief exile from the club scene after her stint in jail was so tough for her.

Respected U.S. gossip column Page Six said: “We always wondered how Paris Hilton makes money.

“Sure, she ’stars’ in a movie every now and then, she’s made an album, has a fragrance and a shoe line - but all of those bombed badly.

“Now, we hear her real income comes courtesy of Las Vegas clubs.”

Christina Aguilera 'Amazed' by her growing Boobs

Christina Aguilera is "amazed" by her ever-expanding boobs.

The new mom gave birth on January 12 to son Max, her first child with husband Jordan Bratman and was shocked by how much weight she gained during the pregnancy, but was delighted when her breasts got bigger.

"I was just amazed by the whole process of being pregnant. It's unbelievable to see yourself grow like that. So my stomach was huge back then, and now my chest is huge," Aguilera said.

'Naked' Madonna mistaken for Marilyn Monroe

The BBC reports that an American couple and a purported Marilyn Monroe expert have been left red-faced after they mistook a nude picture of Madonna for one of the doomed 1950s starlet.

The shot depicts a woman wearing nothing but high heels and a handbag, with a cigarette dangling from her mouth.

Lawrence Nicastro, 73, of Las Vegas, said that he found a poor-quality poster-sized photo in his home which he thought was a rare nude photo of Monroe.

Together with his wife he then spent the next four months researching the photo.

Christina Aguilera to continue 'Naked Sunday' Tradition

The Dirty Singer who gave birth to her first child, Max Liron, with record producer Jordan Bratman on January 12 insists she will continue to lounge around in the nude at home.

Christina said: "When it comes to things like our cosy naked Sundays I think it's important for Jordan and I not to lose ourselves. Of course, having a child requires a lot of time and attention, but we think it's really important to still have mummy and daddy time."

Last year, Christina revealed she and Jordan liked to spice up their love life by spending a whole day naked every week.

Former Friends star Courteney Cox has combined socialite pals Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to create a high-living, party-girl character for her TV show Dirt.

Cox, who plays a ruthless tabloid editor in the hit U.S. drama, combined Hilton and Richie’s headline-grabbing moments and created the character Milan Carlton.

In the second season premiere of Dirt next month (Mar08), the socialite character, who shares Hilton’s European city first name and hotel chain surname, is arrested for driving the wrong way on a freeway - the crime Richie was punished for.

Carlton also leads the paparazzi on a hair-raising chase through Hollywood one of Britney Spears’ favourite pastimes.

Cox, who is also the series executive producer, says, "You’re gonna be able to identify these characters pretty easily.

Katie Price : I thought I was dying

English glamour model Katie Price aka Jordan denied that she took cocaine during a drug binge that left her feeling suicidal.

Jordan, who is a 29-year old mother of three, had taken the substance behind her husband Peter Andre's back, but she has refused to reveal what it was she had used.

On Feb 17 a spokeswoman for Jordan denied that it was cocaine that the model had used.

"Katie did not take an illegal substance. It was a prescription drug," the Sun quoted the spokeswoman as saying.

"She did turn to drugs in the lowest ebb of her life. She knows it was a stupid thing to do," the spokeswoman stated.

"Katie did not have to talk about this but has decided to do so as a warning. She wants to stop other people turning to drugs as a way of dealing with their problems," the spokeswoman added.

The model has confessed to the ordeal in her book "Jordan: Pushed To The Limit', where she admitted that she had taken the drug in a bid to beat postnatal depression but feared she had overdosed.

Jordan's doctor had given her the all clear, but there was huge fight between her and 34-year-old Andre, making her run away from their home.

"I seriously thought, 'Shall I end it now?'" Jordan revealed of her feelings.

Eva who married Tony in a lavish ceremony last year - has made no secret of her desire to become a mother. She once said: "I've always loved the idea of having lots of children. If I'm around any baby, I'm like, 'Aaaaahhhh, babies!'

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are planning to secretly marry. The couple have been dating for three years and began a family together. They have one biological daughter and three adopted children. Jolie is said to be pregnant with twins.

Sources claim now that Jolie and Pitt’s mom have laid aside their differences, the couple is ready to tie the knot. “They have talked about marrying for a while. They have been together three years and sorting things out with Brad’s mum is the icing on the cake,” said the insider.

Lindsay Lohan done the DUI thing. She's done the rehab thing. Now, Lindsay Lohan is mounting her comeback by posing completely nude as Marilyn Monroe in New York Magazine. The photos are meant to re-create Monroe's famous 1962 shoot, shot by Bert Stone, called The Last Sitting. Says NY Mag: "But the pictures are also remarkable for the raw truths they seem to reveal. In them, we see an actress whose comedic talents were overshadowed by her sex appeal, a woman who is cannily aware of her pinup status, yet is also beginning to show her 36 years. In many shots, she is obviously drunk. This was an unhappy time for Monroe."

On why she wanted to pose for the fairly scandalous photos, Lindsay said, "I didn't have to put much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stone? Doing a Marilyn Monroe shoot? When is that ever going to come up." There are 10 photos in the batch most of which feature Lohan semi-nude, or nude from the waist up, draping herself in some sort of fabric.
